The One of a Kind Hall of Fame was created in 1999 to honour the quality, craftsmanship and outstanding achievements of our talented exhibitors. At each Winter and Spring Show, we induct an artist who excels in their chosen medium, creating works that are exceptional both in their construction and in their level of creativity. As a One of a Kind participant for at least 5 years, our inductees act as ambassadors, and their dedication to the show, and to their craft, is undeniable.
Yasmine Louis is a Francophone silkscreen artist working in Toronto. After graduating from OCAD, she began featuring her silkscreen printed products at the One of A Kind Show where she received the Best New Craft Award. It was only the beginning of an
exciting printing adventure!
From pillows to clothing to commissioned work to limited edition artwork– she has printed on every possible fabric and surface and collaborated with great artists and designers. Over the years, she has gained a notable reputation in Toronto’s applied art scene and was commissioned three times for limited edition shirts by the Art Gallery of Ontario. In addition, thirteen of her silkscreen prints on paper are part of the City of Toronto Art Collection.
Lately, she has taken her work in many directions, exploring different art forms, including public art and installation. Yasmine Louis has participated in artist residencies in Canada, Iceland, the Netherlands and Portugal.
