Currently pursuing her MFA at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, ceramic artist Alwyn O’Brien (Salt Spring Island, BC) was the first recipient of the One of a Kind Show/Gardiner Museum Emerging Artist Award in 2007. Mini Bio Kyla Francis graduated from NSCAD University with a BFA in ceramics, and works in her seaside studio in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She is an organizer for Halifax Crafters, a group committed to creating handmade goods locally that has been presenting seasonal handmade markets since 2005.
