Currently pursuing her MFA at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, ceramic artist Alwyn O’Brien (Salt Spring Island, BC) was the first recipient of the One of a Kind Show/Gardiner Museum Emerging Artist Award in 2007. Mini Bio I have been working with wood and design for over 35 years. Initially I worked in the building and renovation field. Design and woodworking was always a passion. Winters provided shop time to work on developing ideas and eventually after over 25 years of combining my passion for home building and woodworking I moved to developing Larch Wood.
