Currently pursuing her MFA at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, ceramic artist Alwyn O’Brien (Salt Spring Island, BC) was the first recipient of the One of a Kind Show/Gardiner Museum Emerging Artist Award in 2007. Mini Bio The Monster Factory is an independent toy design company run by Rhya Tamasauskas, Bliss Man and Adam Dunn. Their studio is located in Toronto, Canada where they design and hand make their creatures. Specializing in plush toys, Monster Factory designs are distinguished by their simple shapes, clean lines and sophisticated colour palette. Monster Factory plush characters were first introduced into the designer toy scene with the launch of their inaugural series, 'the Heartbreakers', in November 2003. Since that time they've been busy developing more monsters, with the current roster sitting at 88 monsters from 17 different series in production.
