Wooden flags are rustic, made of several pieces of wood that are wired together. Hangers are from spindles or table legs, but flags also can be hung from fence or 911 sign. Canada flags are most popular but various designs are available with some more seasonal, and others for indoor art. 8"-16" wide x 12"-24" long flags.

Birdhouse benches are made in cedar or pine in this unique design. Great for entry, porch or yard. Comes as 8 piece kit, but delivery and assembly can be arranged (free in Guelph, Kitchener area). Oiled cedar, white rustic pine and high gloss yellow, navy, red- houses, with white pickets (exterior paint on pine) ready to purchase. Cedar bench will be on display at show in Central Display.. Delivery in Kitchener, Hamilton to Toronto area can be arranged.

Solar Saltbox house
Rough 1" thick pine is used to create a solar accent for deck or garden. Rustic oiled finish weathers well. Narrow versions fit on window sills. Back of house has star cutout. Solar light in roof, but looks good over electric garden lights as well.

Gyles the Butler
This spindle person is the perfect greeter and able to hold your keys in his silver tray, as well as your scarf and purse. He's made to earn his keep. He's created from a bedpost. Another spindle person from oak newel post (5' dressage rider with leather halter) will also be available.
Rocking horses are designed to look like they have been passed down over years. They are roughly carved and finished with a rustic worn appearance. Definitely more decorative than a toy but makes a beautiful baby shower gift. Approx. 10" high x 16" long.
Each piece of wood is cut, routed, painted and sanded to create a rustic appearance. Then they are reassembled, mounted and framed. The quilt is finished with Danish oil or varnish. Most are suitable indoor or outdoor.

Rustic Wooden Planters
Rough 1" thick pine is used in all planters. Custom colours and sizes possible. This one is wedge shaped, fits standard hanging pots and trimmed with cedar on the bottom edge. Lighter coloured versions are trimmed with black painted pressure treated wood. Rustic finish brings out the beauty of the pine and will weathers well. 24' or ~32' in height.
Reclaimed wood creations
Cedar flooring from a gutted farmhouse was used to create stool tops and decorative mortise and tenon ladders. Pine bedposts are converted to candle sticks and barn boards become interesting cost hooks.

Moose with wired legs and arms are created to reflect various sports or professions (hockey, wake boarding, doctor, etc). This one is pure Canadiana with his flag and Tim cup. They are seated on an elm log.
Rustic settle benches are available in various colours. French country blue, black (with black or cedar seat) and barn red (with black seat) variations will be at show. Size is perfect for narrow entrance and easy to take home as 1 piece or 5 (easy to assemble). Custom sizes and colours possible.

Mini Bio Doris Dyson is a University of Guelph professor and veterinary anesthesiologist, recently retired from full time work. She was presented with a "Most Creative Retirement" award from her colleagues for the new career move into woodworking and art. Rockinghorses and moose were perfect gifts for animal lovers in her life and now are made for others to purchase. Doris specializes in incorporating reclaimed elements in her home decor. Repurposed spindles are commonly found in her crafts (spindle people, candles, flag hangers, drying racks, blackboards). Garden/ deck furniture and accents have become a large portion of her effort lately. Rustic, country and cottage styles predominate her work as she finds inspiration in her cottage life on Lake Belwood. Many of her creations are inspired by the outdoors, using natural elements like logs.
